Communities of colour are disproportionately affected by climate change, however are rarely given space and representation in the environmental movement. Black Girl Environmentalist (BGE) aims to change the narrative and create an empowered community of black women, girls and non-binary environmentalists. The platform is run by a collective of young black women who uplift other women of colour in the environmental movement to create a more accurate depiction of what the climate movement actually looks like.
People of Colour looking for a community and allies looking to learn and listen
We love the intersectional and diverse lens that Black Girl Environmentalist brings to their content. BGE is a community of like-minded people exploring the what it means to be Black women in the climate movement. This platform is inclusive, educational and accessible to all.
